Simone Collignon


Simone has over 10 years’ transactional experience acting on deals for clients across a range of industries including the agribusiness, life sciences, digital media, manufacturing, renewables and resources sectors.  She specialises in managing complex M&A transactions, restructures, joint ventures, asset acquisitions and disposals for listed and unlisted clients.  

With a focus on inbound investment and cross-border transactions, Simone thrives on assisting businesses to execute their growth strategies, whether through establishing an Australian presence or expanding their local operations.  Her energy and desire to truly understand her clients’ businesses and their unique challenges has seen Simone work closely with boards and senior executives on key projects, as well as advise on internal governance and key stakeholder matters.

Simone’s clients include Australian and foreign SMEs, PE investors/investees and advisory firms, as well as major foreign corporates and multinationals headquartered across the Asia-Pacific, in Europe and North America.  She has a track record of successfully assisting her clients execute strategically significant transactions by combining her knowledge of the Australian corporate landscape with a natural ability to work effectively as part of a diverse deal team.

Additionally, Simone has worked on distressed asset transactions in conjunction with industry-leading insolvency practitioners representing some of Australia’s top banking institutions.

Simone’s recent experience includes:

  • Acting for Australian Wool Network, Australia’s largest independent wool broker, livestock and property group, on a series of acquisitions and advising the board and senior management on a range of commercial and governance matters.
  • Advising the peak industry body representing Australia’s mobile telecommunications industry on membership and funding arrangements, commercial contracts with suppliers, project partners and telco market participants.
  • Acting for global conglomerate Lantmannen Unibake on its entry into the Australian baked goods market via its acquisition of a bakery business supplying to Australia’s leading supermarket chains, representing a key strategic move for one of Europe’s largest bakery groups.
  • Advising on a series of acquisitions for one of Australia’s leading job training, employment and workforce solutions providers whose programs are active across metropolitan, regional and remote communities throughout Australia.
