Kain Lawyers creates opportunities for Aussie start-up Vinomofo by helping secure $25m investment

In the spirit of creating opportunities for clients, Kain Lawyers have played a key role in helping client Vinomofo secure a $25-million investment from Blue Sky Venture Capital.

The newly secured funding will enable online wine seller Vinomofo to accelerate their growth plans and penetrate new Australian and international markets. The company’s first round of funding represents the largest venture capital investment secured by a local start-up, purely from Australian backers.

“It is always gratifying to help clients achieve their commercial outcomes, especially in this case where the outcome will help facilitate another generation of rapid growth for a long standing client like Vinomofo” said Director Gerry Cawson.

In the particularly complex transaction, Mr Cawson was assisted by Kain’s Director James Burchnall and lawyers Josh Bell and Peter Smith.

Co-founders of Vinomofo, Andre Eikmeier and brother-in-law Justin Dry, have maintained a longstanding relationship with Kain Lawyers over many years. In 2012, Gerry Cawson protected Vinomofo in the original contracts, when they sold a big portion of the business to the Catch Group.

Kain Lawyers is an innovative legal consulting company specialising in complex transactions, disputes and advice. We create opportunities for clients by delivering agreed outcomes, on time and on budget – without disrupting your business.
