Known for his pragmatic and commercial approach, Michael works closely with clients to understand their commercial goals and drivers in order to deliver the right outcomes.
Michael’s broad experience covers mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, restructures, funds management and financial services.
Michael has advised high profile clients across a range of industry sectors including private equity, consumer goods, financial services, transport, agri-business, property and infrastructure and wine and beverages.
His recent M&A experience includes acting on the acquisitions or disposals of R.M. Williams, Seafolly Swimwear, Barossa Valley Estate and Scott Petroleum.
Michael has acted on the establishment and offering of a number of managed funds for one of Australia’s largest banks. He also has extensive experience advising on solvent and insolvent restructures, having advised on the recovery of over $250m in funds invested in Lehman Brothers CDOs following its collapse, the $5bn restructure of the Centro Property Group and restructure plans for a number of agri-funds.
Michael is listed in the areas of M&A and Corporate Law in the 2018 edition of ‘Best Lawyers in Australia’ and is listed as a recommended Corporate and Commercial lawyer in the 2017 edition of Doyle’s Guide.
