Kain Lawyers achieves prestigious ‘First Tier’ status, its practitioners the most commended in 2017 Doyle’s Guide

Kain Lawyers has again featured as South Australia’s highest ranked Corporate and Commercial law firm in the 2017 Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession – Adelaide.

The company was one of just three to achieve the highest First Tier status and its lawyers were the most represented among the State’s exceptional legal practitioners.

The 2017 edition of the respected Doyle’s Guide released today (January 25, 2017) reflects the findings of comprehensive and independent peer-based surveys, along with extensive telephone and face-to-face interviews the Guide conducted among clients, peers and numerous relevant industry bodies.

In addition to its First Tier ranking in Corporate Law for the second consecutive year, two of Kains’ lawyers, Managing Director John Kain and Director Gerry Cawson, were recognised as being among the top five Corporate Lawyers in the State, with both achieving ‘Preeminent Practitioner’ ranking.

At the same time, fellow Kain Lawyers Directors James Burchnall, Sarah Chia and Michael Garry were recognised as being among the top 22 Corporate Lawyers in the State, with all achieving ‘Recommended Practitioner’ status.

With five lawyers among the State’s top 22 Corporate Lawyers, Kains has more than 20% of the top tier Corporate Lawyers in South Australia, the highest representation of any legal practice in the State.

The firm gained similar recognition in the Commercial Law category, with Mr Kain achieving the top ‘Leading’ status and Mr Cawson and Mr Garry the ‘Recommended’ status. Kain Lawyers is the equal most represented South Australian Commercial Law firm, with three of the 19 listed practitioners.

“With five of our eight directors getting the Doyle’s Guide nod, the listings send a strong message to potential clients that when they choose to deal with Kain Lawyers, they are dealing with experts in their field,” Mr Kain said.

“It is that depth of top tier lawyers which allows us to create opportunities for our clients by delivering certainty of outcome on time and to budget.”

The latest accolade continues the trend of recognition for Kain Lawyers across the Corporate and Commercial Law landscape, with the company having been ranked on the Doyle’s Guide list each year since 2012.

The firm has also regularly featured on the Best Lawyers in Australia list over the past few years and, for the second year, became the only single office South Australian legal practice to achieve a Top 20 ranking in Thomson Reuters’ 2017 national listing of legal advisors in the mergers and acquisitions field.
