Mark Henderson, a Director in our Commercial Team specialising in property and water law will be speaking at the State Conference of the Australian Water Association, Water 2020, on Friday 12 August.

The State’s water industry has now been regulated for three years and it is an opportune time for him to look forward and identify opportunities for industry participants to grow their businesses.

As Mark notes, “The water industry is at a cross-roads. The regulatory environment has been revolutionised, with new water industry entities entering the field and third party access to infrastructure creating opportunities for customers and utilities alike.”

Participants in the industry, whether they be utilities, customers or suppliers, need to identify the opportunities which the change in the industry has created and how to capitalise on them. This will require some innovative thinking, but there have already been some success stories which can provide some guidance. Mark will explore these concepts with attendees.

If you are interested in attending, have any suggestions for topics or have a success story you want to share, please contact [email protected].

Mark has advised water industry participants for over ten years. This has included advising on the spread of purple pipe and the installation of pipeworks for stormwater and wastewater recycling and reticulation systems as well as supply and service contracts throughout the industry.

His session will give the industry some guidance on where the opportunities are for the next 10 years. Details for the event are available here. Please contact Mark if you would like to attend.
