“Protecting the integrity of credence claims made about food products is a priority enforcement area for the ACCC” said Rod Sims, the Chairman of the ACCC in a recent media release. The ACCC has investigated claims made by food and beverage businesses in relation to the origins of their products. These investigations have resulted in Carlton & United Breweries, Maggie Beer Products and Barossa Farm Produce among others admitting to conduct in contravention of the Australian Consumer Law and giving enforceable undertakings to the ACCC.
Rebecca Halkett is our competition and consumer law specialist and has extensive experience both advising the ACCC and representing businesses that have been the subject of an ACCC investigation. In this breakfast briefing, Rebecca will discuss the ACCC’s recent investigations, how the ACCC pursues an investigation and how you may ensure your brand, labelling, marketing and advertising comply with the Australian Consumer Law.
